Doug hits the nail on the head when he pin-points the need to finish what you start without being sidetracked by new ideas that come along.
It’s important to spend some serious time deciding what you are going to do, and why it’s right for you, before making a firm commitment to embark on a project that you plan to see through to end.
Before you begin a project, it’s worth writing down exactly why you have chosen it over other possibilities.
This is helpful as, later, if you feel tempted to abandon what you’ve begun, you can refer back to your earlier reasoning to ensure you you stay on track.

Hey Max,
Thanks for your kind words and for your additional comments.
I’m just now starting to work with the “Getting Things Done” principles, and, if well implemented, they virtually eliminate this kind of issue.
It’s one of the most compelling aspects of GTD, the system makes sure that all of your ‘next actions’ are intentional versus reactionary.
I hope I can successfully implement it!
